Frequently asked questions

How far in advance can I book a Klementinum tour?

Prague City Tourism (the operator) publishes Klementinum tour sessions on a rolling 2–3 week schedule — typically you'll see open dates from today out to roughly three weeks ahead, with new dates added each week. If your travel date falls beyond the currently-visible window, email [email protected] with your dates and we'll watch the calendar for you. As soon as the operator publishes a session that matches your window, we send you a one-click booking link. Operationally we refresh our availability feed every 30 minutes, so we catch new dates within half an hour of the operator publishing them.

Why is my preferred date not showing as bookable?

Two reasons most often: (1) your date is outside the operator's current 2–3 week release window — check back, or email us to be notified when it opens. (2) the session sold out — Klementinum tours cap at around 15 visitors per session, and English-language sessions can sell out 7–10 days ahead in peak summer. We can suggest a Czech-language session at the same time slot if you don't mind the language; the building, the route, and the upper-terrace views are identical.

What is your refund policy?

All sales are final. The one exception: in the rare event we are unable to secure your tickets from the operator, a full refund is issued within 24 hours. Once your booking is confirmed, changes to date or time follow our rebooking terms.

Can I change my visit date after booking?

Yes. We rebook your visit to any open slot in the operator's calendar. Submit your request at least 48 hours before your original time slot. The concierge team coordinates directly with the Klementinum to find availability that suits your revised schedule.

How quickly will I receive confirmation?

Confirmed within 2 hours during business hours. You receive a confirmation email with your visit details and entry instructions. Tickets are digital, instant, by email. Check your inbox and spam folder; contact the concierge team immediately if nothing arrives within the window.

Where do I meet for the tour?

The main entrance is on Mariánské náměstí. Arrive ten minutes early. Your confirmation email includes the exact address, a map pin, and instructions for locating the guide. The tour departs on time; late arrivals cannot join mid-visit due to security protocols.

What is included in my ticket?

Your concierge tier covers the standard Baroque Library Hall + Astronomical Tower route. Your concierge tier covers entry, the guided route, and access to all public exhibition spaces. Photography rules and restrictions are explained at the start of your visit.

Is the Klementinum wheelchair accessible?

The historic structure includes narrow staircases and uneven surfaces. Contact the concierge team before booking if you require mobility accommodations; we coordinate with the operator to clarify which sections you can access and arrange assistance where possible.

Can children visit the Klementinum?

Children are welcome. The tour involves climbing stairs and listening to detailed historical commentary, so families with very young children should assess whether the format suits their group. Strollers cannot be used inside; carriers are recommended for infants.

Am I allowed to take photographs?

Photography rules are announced at the beginning of your visit. Some rooms permit non-flash personal photos; others prohibit all photography to protect rare manuscripts and instruments. Respect the guide's instructions and posted signage throughout the tour.

What happens if the weather is bad?

The Klementinum is an indoor attraction. Rain, wind, and cold do not affect your visit. Dress comfortably for interior temperatures; the historic building may feel cooler than modern spaces, especially in winter months.

How long does the visit last?

The standard tour lasts 50 minutes. Plan for the full duration plus travel time to and from your accommodation. The tour follows a set route and pace; you cannot leave early and re-enter. Arrive rested and ready to climb stairs and absorb detailed historical context.

Do I need to print my ticket?

No. Your ticket is digital, instant, by email. Show the confirmation on your phone at the meeting point. Ensure your device is charged and the screen brightness is high enough for the staff to scan or read your booking reference quickly.

Can I book for a large group?

For parties larger than the standard capacity, contact the concierge team before booking. We coordinate with the operator to arrange private slots or split your group across consecutive time windows, ensuring everyone experiences the tour without crowding.

What should I bring?

Bring your phone with the confirmation email, a valid ID, comfortable shoes for climbing stairs, and a light jacket if visiting in cooler months. Leave large bags at your hotel; the Klementinum does not offer locker storage. Water bottles are permitted but must remain capped inside exhibition halls.

Is the tour conducted in English?

Confirm language availability in your confirmation email. If you require a specific language, note your preference during checkout; the concierge team requests it from the operator. Not all languages are available at every time slot.

What if I arrive late?

You cannot join the tour after departure. The route is timed, and the group moves through secured spaces that lock behind the guide. Arrive ten minutes early to check in, use restrooms, and gather with your group. Late arrivals forfeit their visit with no refund or rebooking.
